RE: I met my first Earthroamer today!

I like the Earth Roamers, but my truck was paid for and my camper cost me $2000. Everyone still pulls me over and asks if the truck and camper are new.

RE: Do campers attract lightning?

Thanks for the answers. It happened to me a couple of years ago. We were at the top of a mountain in a campground. We're under a bunch of trees, when this huge thunder storm, with tons of lightning. We were right under the storm with thunder and lightning going off at the same time. Just us and the trees. It was the middle of the night and my kids asked me if we were safe. I said, "of course", but I didn't sleep the whole night and I've never really known for sure. It sounds pretty iffy if I understand the responses. Thanks again.

Do campers attract lightning?

Is it dangerous to be on the top of a mountain in a lightning storm if you are in your camper?

RE: Bring a knife to Canada?

We leave on the road today and we will be taking a ferry eventually when we get there. Thanks for the information and help.

RE: Bring a knife to Canada?

It's a pocket knife that my daughter found for me on one of our trips. I keep it now for good luck. When we went to take a boat to the Statue of Liberty, I almost had it confiscated. They made me walk back to my truck and we missed the boat. I don't know the exact rules on crossing the border and have never been to Canada - I've carried it for years for setimental reasons. I'd hate to lose it.

Bring a knife to Canada?

Are you allowed to take a knife in the TC on the ferry to Victoria from Washington?

RE: Almost a TC. Just not the versatility

It's a C like a cheaper version of a Earthroamer.

RE: squirrels damaged cover

They ate the wiring out of my truck around the engine once. I had no idea until the truck wouldn't start one day. $$$ to fix - I hope you get them.

RE: Unloading a camper on a slanted driveway

Since the camper is used, check where the brackets connect to the camper for dry rot, water damage or other trama. The front end of the camper should be a little higher than the back - not level. I used to have old jacks until one failed on me once. Ended up replacing them with new jacks. You can't beat the price - enjoy and welcome!

Why wouldn't Sportsmobile Fresno do the work? - would have saved you a trip to Texas.

I think the original camper in this thread is fantastic - if it doesn't leak! If anyone ever runs into this person tell him great job from roadrunner65.

RE: Fuel prices making you change your plans?

Campers don't have motors and last near forever and your diesel is only 7 years old - they're both near new in my book. Unless you "need" a motorhome - I think you should keep what you have.
